1. 100% Offline-First Data Storage
Cipher64 is designed from first principles as an offline desktop laboratory. All chess games, PGN files, FEN positions, opening repertoires, blunder libraries, and move reviews are saved directly to an embedded SQLite database on your local machine.
We operate no central cloud servers that collect, store, or process your chess games or study materials. Your chess laboratory is strictly private to your machine.
2. Zero Telemetry & Tracking
The Cipher64 desktop application contains no analytics SDKs, no behavioral trackers, no telemetry probes, and no crash harvest daemons. We do not track what openings you practice, what engines you run, or how many hours you analyze.
3. Third-Party AI Coach Keys (Optional)
If you choose to use the cloud AI Coach testing feature in the free tier, you may optionally provide your own personal OpenRouter API key. When provided, the prompt is dispatched directly from your machine to the OpenRouter endpoint. Cipher64 servers never intercept, proxy, or store your API keys. In the Lifetime tier, on-device local GGUF models run 100% offline with zero network connectivity.
4. Cryptographic License Verification
When you activate a Lifetime License, authentication is performed via asymmetric Ed25519 digital signatures and a quantized hardware signature. Once verified, no recurring online pings or DRM background services are executed.
